QCL-12 / Medium-voltage distribution
12 kV SF6 ring main unit
A compact, modular SF6-insulated RMU for utility distribution, secondary substations and industrial networks. Select the C, F, V and supporting functions around your project scheme.
Your SLD, system ratings and installation requirements define the final configuration.

Designed around the application
From network requirements to a clear equipment specification
Discuss feeder functions, protection, cable interfaces and installation conditions together, before fixing the supplied arrangement.
Secondary distribution
For ring-network feeders and secondary substations, with functional units selected to suit the distribution scheme.
Industrial & building projects
Match the equipment to load requirements, protection coordination, the installation environment and project specification.
EPC & panel integration
Coordinate the single-line diagram, general arrangement, auxiliary supply and technical documents before supply.
Technical reference
Key specifications, with their scope made clear
These values describe the documented product-family range. Confirm the selected functional unit and project requirements before ordering.
| Item | Product-family value |
|---|---|
| Rated voltage | 12 kV |
| Rated frequency | 50 Hz |
| Insulation system | SF6 gas insulation |
| C load-switch rated current | 630 A |
| F fuse-combination circuit | 125 A fuse circuit; fuse selection is project-specific |
| V vacuum-switch rated current | 630 A |
| Power-frequency withstand voltage | 42 kV; 48 kV across the isolating distance |
| Lightning impulse withstand voltage | 75 kV; 85 kV across the isolating distance |
| Functional arrangement | C / F / V and project-configured cable, bus or metering functions |
| Dimensions and interfaces | Confirm against the selected arrangement and approved drawings |
Final supply is governed by the approved technical agreement, drawings and order documents. Product-family ratings are not a substitute for the applicable test reports.
Functional units
Build the line-up from your single-line diagram
Start with the feeder function. Confirm switching duty, protection, earthing, interlocks and interfaces for the complete arrangement.
Load-break switch
Ring-network switching function. Confirm the operating mechanism, earthing arrangement and required interfaces.
Switch-fuse combination
Transformer protection using a selected fuse arrangement. Fuse selection follows the transformer and coordination requirements.
Vacuum circuit-breaker
Feeder or transformer protection. Confirm the protection relay, instrument transformers and auxiliary supply.
Additional project functions
Discuss cable connection, bus sectionalising, voltage-transformer or metering functions as required by the scheme. Dimensions, termination positions, operating clearances and extension interfaces need the selected arrangement drawing.

Make your enquiry easier
A short question is enough to start
If you have a specification, send it with your enquiry. If you do not, tell us your country, the equipment you need and what it will supply.
- Project country and installation conditions
- Rated voltage and frequency
- SLD, feeder functions and quantity
- Load current and short-circuit requirements
- Cable details and auxiliary supply
- Required documents and delivery schedule
QCL-12 questions
Can QCL-12 be used for an 11kV network?
QCL-12 is a 12kV-class product. Suitability for a 10kV or 11kV system depends on the insulation requirements and project specification.
Which functional units are available?
C cable-switch, F switch-fuse, V circuit-breaker, PT and metering functions can be arranged to match the approved SLD.
What does 630A / 25kA mean?
630A describes the normal-current rating; 25kA describes short-circuit withstand duty. The required duration and ratings must be checked for the selected functional unit.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Start with your country, equipment type and approximate quantity if known. For a firm technical offer we will confirm the voltage, current, fault level, functional units, cable interfaces, protection and delivery requirements.
Which type-test documents can I review?
Model-specific report references are 2026XHT06258, 2026XHT06259 and 2026XHT06260 for the stated C, F and V units. Each report applies only to its tested model and scope.
Can I request GA drawings and FAT?
Project-specific GA drawings follow configuration clarification. The inspection and FAT scope, including applicable mechanical, interlocking and electrical checks, is agreed for the order.
